Bruce McLaren

Bruce McLaren, the New Zealand-born founder of the McLaren Formula 1 team, died 40 years ago today whilst testing a Can-Am racing car at Goodwood.

A quote from his book:
"To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one’s ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone."

His name lives on.
